Pleading for the good of others

II Pleading for the good of others II

After breakfast, before Swamishri departed for Bhayapura, Ajitbhai Jain, owner of Manekchand Gutka - a big tobacco company - came to meet Swamishri. It was his first ever meeting with Swamishri. But this did not prevent Swamishri from expressing his deeply-held views, out of his genuine concern for the good of all.

Swamishri said, "You should find another line of business. So many people have to suffer because of tobacco. God will give you success. I will pray for it. As your other business flourishes, gradually wind this one down. Rather than make millions of people miserable, it is better we suffer a little. But I am sure God will not let you suffer. If you do this, God will be genuinely pleased with you."

Swamishri's focus is clear - a life free of addictions is essential for worshipping God. That is why he seeks to create such a society at every possible opportunity.
